Chase Travel Plus Visa Card – Review

The Chase TravelPlus? Visa? Card is perfect if you travel often and would like to take extreme advantage of the rewards program with a great low annual fee. You can earn one mile for every dollar that you spend on general purchases online or off and two miles for every dollar spent on travel. Miles are redeemable for a variety of excellent travel rewards, such as free airline flights, hotel stays, and auto rentals. You can even get an unlimited amount of miles with no blackout dates or aircraft seating restrictions. The Chase TravelPlus? Visa? Card gives an interest-free introductory period for purchases and balance transfers, and the rate for purchases and balance transfers is about average once the introductory period comes to an end.

Basically, you will receive two miles for each dollar of net (not gross) purchases made at retail locals that have their merchant location for Visa/MasterCard classified as an airline, car rental agency, or a lodging (motel, hotel, etc.) establishment. It is important to note that online and catalog purchases are not eligible to receive the 2 miles credited unless the merchants have correctly labeled and billed the transactions as required. Chase as a rule does not determine itself whether merchants correctly identify and billed the transactions as being made at locations in each particular required category. However, Chase does reserve the right to determine which purchases qualify for the 2 miles in any case. You will earn 1 mile for each $1 of all other net purchases with the Chase TravelPlus Visa Card. Sadly, you do not earn miles on balance transfers, cash advances, cash-like transactions such as travelers checks, foreign currency, and money orders, any checks that are used to access your account, overdraft advances, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, or fees of any kind, including fees for products that protect or insure the balances of your account. There is no maximum number of miles that you can earn in the program. It is most important that you review the program rules and regulations which will be mailed to you after you have applied for the card if you have been approved.

It is important to note that Chase card members who at this moment have or have had in the past a Chase credit card in this reward scheme or have received a similar bonus offer from the folks at Chase, may not be eligible for another Chase credit card in the same type of rewards program, or for the Chase TravelPlus Visa offer. Card members of Chase that are currently receiving promotional pricing, or card members with a documented history of just using their current or prior Chase card for promotional pricing offers, are not eligible for a second Chase credit card with promotional pricing as well.

Business Travel Packing List – Travel Light With One Bag Only

Business travel packing list is in many ways different from vacation travel packing checklist. Firstly, business trips tend to be shorter than most vacation trips. Secondly, most business travelers prefer to travel light with only one bag. This makes most business travelers experts in packing light.

Most business travelers prefer to use carryon luggage only whenever they can. Not having to check their luggage in, nor wait for it at their destination, saves them valuable time.

It also reduces the risk of losing their luggage en-route. It is very inconvenient to arrive at business destination without the appropriate business attire. Those business travelers that do check-in their luggage usually have some spare items in their carryon luggage, e.g. clean shirt, underwear, socks, etc.

Some business travelers prefer garment carrier bags when travelling with suits, and most have mobile office carrier bag as well as their carryon luggage piece.

Some Important Travel Packing Tips

The best packing method for your carryon luggage is the bundle wrapping method. I recommend giving it a try, I’m sure you will be pleasantly surprised how much you will be able to fit into your carryon luggage on your next trip.

Packing strategically can save you valuable time and hassle when going through security.

Keep the toiletry bag at the top of your carryon luggage for easy access All liquids must be in the right size of containers and should be in separate clear plastic bags Make sure your bag allows easy access to your laptop, as you will have to remove it from your luggage when you go through airport security

Your Business Travel Packing List

The typical business traveler wardrobe tends to be conservative and unadventurous, and travel accessories and “nice to haves” are usually limited as possible. On top of it all, corporate travelers usually take the same or at least similar items with them when travelling on business.

All this makes travelling light with only one bag easier then when packing for a vacation. Travel packing list is still a good idea, as it keeps you focused and saves you time when packing for a trip.

What do you really need when packing for a business trip? Which items must your travel packing list include?

You will need your travel documents and travel money. It is important to keep your travel documents well organized and in as safe place as possible while travelling. Travel organizers are great way of storing your travel documents while on the road. All documents except the copies of your travel documents, you should keep them separately at all times.

You will need clothes and accessories. You will of course need enough of appropriate business attire. You must also consider the dress code if dining out, and you might want to bring some casual wear / sportswear for your “free time”… if any.

You are likely to have little time to spare when travelling on business. Unexpected spills, tears, or stains on your clothes can therefore be very inconvenient as you might have problem finding the time to look for suitable replacements. Most travel packing tips recommend packing some extra items so your itinerary will not suffer if accidents like that happen, e.g. extra shirt, tie, socks, pantyhose, underwear, etc.

Today business travelers travel with small mobile office with them, so you will have to pack your electronics and gadgets. Good quality wheeled mobile office bag is essential for business travelers, it will help you stay organized and make it easier for you to work while travelling.

It is very personal which toiletries and health related products people take with them on their travels. However, when packing toiletries it makes sense to minimize toiletries as much as you can, especially if you are flying with carryon luggage only.

Which other possible travel necessities to bring is also quite personal choice and often limited by the space you have left in your luggage. Our business travel packing list template contains list of items you might want to consider when packing for a trip… or not.
